PALM DESERT, CA – (APRIL 11, 2024) BIGHORN Golf Club Charities today revealed that for the second consecutive year, BIGHORN Behind a Miracle (BAM) raised more than $1 million during its ’23-’24 fundraising season. The big announcement was made at the conclusion of BAM’s two-day spring fundraisers, which include the popular Cash for Caddies, Men’s & Women’s Golf & Card Tournaments, and silent auction.

In total, BAM has contributed over $13 million in funding for the diagnosis, treatment, and transportation of people impacted by cancer throughout the Coachella Valley.

BIGHORN BAM, at the Alice in Wonderland themed golf and card awards luncheon, announced significant donations to four, preeminent local charities, namely:

  • Desert Regional Cancer Center ($68,000)
  • Eisenhower Health ($546,000)
  • The Make-A-Wish-Foundation ($47,000)
  • The Pendleton Foundation ($50,000)

“Our goal is to save 100,000 more lives, and make a million new miracles happen,” said Julie Simon, Chair of BIGHORN BAM. Simon and BIGHORN’s Charities Director Kelly Levy expressed gratitude for the tournament’s sponsors and for all of BAM’s donors throughout the years, who also funded five BAM vehicles, that have provided 46,659 rides for cancer patients from 2009 to 2024.

Now in its 16th year, BIGHORN BAM was founded in 2007 by Selby Dunham. It is one of three BIGHORN Golf Club Charities, which also includes BIGHORN Cares and the BIGHORN Scholarship Program. Donations to BAM can be made by contacting Kelly Levy at klevy@bighorngolf.com.
