BIGHORN BAM RAISES $1 MILLION FOR LOCAL BREAST CANCER PATIENTS THIS SEASON

PALM DESERT, CA – (March 11, 2016) – BIGHORN Behind A Miracle (BAM) announced today that it has raised over $1 million this season for local cancer patient support services, bringing the organization’s total to $6.5 million in just under a decade. Eisenhower Medical Center received a check for $850,000 while the remaining $150,000 was gifted to The Pendleton Foundation. “BIGHORN BAM continues to grow every year, producing more and more miracles for our local cancer patients,” said founder Selby Dunham. “To be able to provide both help and hope is always rewarding, and this year is no exception.”

Funds donated to the Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center will support a Linear Accelerator True Beam STx System 2.0 and Breast Center Genetic Counseling services. Funds also will support a year of round-trip transportation services for patients undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatments who would normally rely on public transportation.

Additionally, the Pendleton Foundation – whose mission is to relieve some of the financial burdens for cancer patients including helping with rent, utilities or grocery cards – will help hundreds of patients with the funds they received.

“BIGHORN BAM’s fundraising feats are made possible by hard-working volunteers and generous donors,” said Dunham. “Many, like me, have had personal experiences with cancer and are focused on finding a cure.”

The check presentations were made after a full week of BAM events including A Night of Miracles gala, a Cash for Caddies auction and their annual Golf Tournament. For more information, please log onto www.bighornbam.net.
